Assassin's Creed Origins reboots the series into a more open-ended action RPG, using ancient Egypt as both spectacle and playground. The deserts, tombs, and cities give it a slower, more expansive rhythm than the older assassination-focused entries.
Origins matters because it reframed the series around exploration, gear progression, and a broader RPG structure without losing the romance of climbing, infiltrating, and uncovering old places. Egypt does a lot of the heavy lifting too, giving the reboot a setting that feels grand even when the player is just wandering.
